i DO have depression. ive been clinically depressed for a year and a half. i dont want to go back to meds because im weaning off of them right now. i want to try other things :/

First off, my advice is not a substitute for medical help, but comes from talking with people who have suffered from depression and my time talking with counselors who recommend alternative treatments.
1. Exercise, an hour of exercise can release endorphins for hours afterwards. Dance combines exercise with art therapy. :)
2. Look into your diet, if you have an undiagnosed food allergy this can cause symptoms of depression.
3. Make sure you have someone to talk to, if your depression is due to stress, instead of having an organic cause a counselor, priest or reader might be able to provide the sounding board you need to work out what is bothering you.
Weaning off your meds is fine, just make sure you’re doing it under the care of a doctor and have someone, friend or family, keep half an eye on you. Withdrawls can cause some nasty physical and emotional symptoms.

the only reason i was seeing him so little was because it wasnt necessary. i was doing so well. this is just some backtracking that has been happening recently.
