Hello I am just wondering would any Readers that would like to give a few tips on how to focus on yourself. As I struggle with that . Any tips would be great and helpful. Thank you ♡

Hi there!

A few tips from me would be the following:

- take time each day to reflect on what it is that you like/dislike. be curious about yourself, take professional quizzes (some can be found online on some accredited platforms) to expand your knowledge about yourself. I personally recommend tests that help you get a clearer picture on what your values and strengths are.

- meditate (I know it’s repeated so much it might come across as something obnoxious, I was there at some point). get some meditations from YouTube (either guided meditations or just meditative music, depending on your familiarity with meditation and what would feel more comfortable with you).

- invest into your hobbies or explore new hobbies. anything that sounds tempting to you. if you really like something, you’ll enter a flow state, in which you’re focused on the present moment and nothing else.

- in regards to the above-mentioned statement, grounding is key. whenever you find yourself overthinking about the past/future/other people, turn your attention to the present moment – paying attention to your senses (like what you’re seeing, hearing, feeling)

- take care of yourself (rest well, make sure you eat enough and are hydrated – again, basic and intuitive info, but a lack in any of these areas can highly impact your emotional life and the way you think about things)

- acknowledge the fact that you are the main character in your life – silly thing to say – but we tend to forget that. why would we put anyone else above us? sure, compassion and compromise is key in relation to others, but we must honour our own needs and wants first. you are the only person that can stay with you through thick and thin, at all times. anyone that tries to tell you that you’re being selfish by taking care of your needs first is only pretty much saying that you should put them first.

Diana thank you. That certainly does give me a few tips on what to do. I really have lost myself putting too much focus on someone who in no contact at the moment so I feel I need to pull my energy back and distraction is needed.

You’re welcome! I’d been there – that’s when I decided to shift the focus back to myself. The thing with no contact is – they do often come back – the moment you detach (in other words, you focus on yourself and you keep it that way). The tricky part is to maintain the focus on yourself once they’re back, but it does get much easier with practice.

Hi ,

I feel like just wanting to focus on you is a step in the right direction . The frequency that would work best is 528 Hz or 432 hz for you to listen to I highly suggest you start guided meditation with the incorporation of those sound waves.

I am also feeling Art might be a good way for you to get your feelings out and create something beautiful.

I personally love @Gemini idea of a reward, It is personally a tool I use to keep motivated and in the right direction. I have learned life does not work in rewards but you should also treat you. It helps to form deep self love.

@Gemini that actually a good idea . I am trying to get back into excerise again so I might actually set up a goal for myself to reward myself each month thank you for that :)

Thank you Alana I will take your advice on board . I listen to rain sounds at night going to sleep so I use to the sound of waves it sure wil be relaxing . I actually like art so I might do some more of that might help with distraction. Thank you for the tips
