I hope, sweetheart, you’ve had proper counselling for this awful incident which happened. I am glad you aren’t having sex, especially if you’ve been having unprotected sex with different guys. No, you are not addicted to sex. What you are doing by giving your body away like this, without protection, is punishing yourself for what that evil guy did to you when you were five. It’s an action triggered by subconscious feelings about what that babysitter did to you. Feelings of self-worth. Feelings that this sort of sex is all you deserve. Feelings that you haven’t been shown how to have a normal, happy, secure and fulfilled sex life. FIRST I really hope you’ll go and see a specialist counsellor and find a support group. You aren’t the only one. SECOND I want you to start believing you can be hugged and touched without being pushed into, or feeling that you have to have, sex. You need to be nurtured and loved and hugged by people who will respect you because you deserve respect. You need to learn how to be vulnerable, warm and open with people, so that you can be loved and so you learn to respect and love yourself. I wonder if there is a dance group near you. And I thoroughly recommend bio-danza or contact dancing. This is a form of intimate dance which is in that space at that moment and will allow you to be embraced without other expectations. I also recommend you go for some energy healing. Learn to know your body in a beautiful way so you won’t think of it like a bit of property which anyone can invade. You are beautiful, what happened before was not your fault or your responsibility. Don’t let that monster control you, or deny you what you deserve – a loving relationship with someone who respects you. And PLEASE, I can’t stress this enough, DON’T let men have unprotected sex with you. They are as much responsible for your safety as you are, and are not worth having sex with if they aren’t taking that responsibility on board. It’s time to take control of who you are and your rights. Your right is to be treated like the lovely girl underneath her feelings of disgust and lack of self-worth. Go out and find her. Learn to say NO. Learn to respect yourself and decide not to let that thing in the past control how you are now. You CAN and WILL be able to do this with the right sort of support. PLEASE get some proper advice about this. Good luck. I hope you find the love you deserve to have. Hug x

Hi I agree with Jenny but you might want to look at hynotherappy that targets the subconscious mind to change the way you think and see yourself. People can carry this baggage around for years and not know why they are doing what they are doing. Self mutilaton is one way that some deal with the pain that is secretly locked inside, some people go on to attempt to take their own lives, some become anorexic there are many things that many do as a result of what they were put through as a child and seem to want to without knowing they want to punnish themselves. Normal counselling may not work so that is why I suggest hypnotherapy as it targets the subconscious mind. I was abused as a kid and I have since realised that my parents were trying to punnish me for being an unplanned child this came from my mother and explains why my brother was never put into that nasty womans care who abused me. I am no longer in contact with my family as it was an uphill battle and they were always trying to control me I went on to as a teenager to do several things as described as a result of that abuse. I have been dealing with it hypnosis is working I have offloaded a lot of that pain I was in so I guess this is where my suggestion comes from. A good support system is what you will need to get through as well do you have family and friends that will be there for you.

I hope that you do find peace as you do not want this to destroy you.

Sexual addiction and a high sex drive are not the same things. I ask you again to see a qualified psychiatric professional, so you can be diagnosed properly and treated.

justine, first off let me say that you are doing the smart thing by abstaining from sex wih the fragile state you are in. while human justice has not caught up with the man who molested you as a child divine justice most definetly will. i believe that you reap what you sow. and no matter what anybody tells you it was NOT your fault. i believe that what you need to do is talk to somebody whom you can trust. could be a counsellor, therapist, pastor, somebody on here or maybe just a good friend.

theres nothing wrong with you justine, you just have alot of wounds that need healing. and i will pray that god brings peace and restoration to you.

It appears that the person who wrote this has deleted her account. But just in case she comes back to read this thread or someone else in the same situation happens upon this….:

I’m not a psychic—just a med student with high hopes of becoming a psychiatrist and a passion for helping people. I just couldn’t ignore your post.

First of all, please know two things:

1) What happened to you was not your fault.

2) The feelings you are experiencing right now are really common in those who have survived sexual abuse. You are absolutely not alone in this. You are not a sex addict, and you have nothing to feel ashamed about.

Please, find a therapist you can talk to about this. I’m in therapy myself (for anxiety and depression—it has been truly helpful so far, so I can attest to its effectiveness) and am going to write a bit more about it* below.

In the meantime, please pick up the book “Invisible Girls” by Dr. Patti Feuereisen. In fact, if you are willing to read it on your computer and pay $9.99, you can download Amazon’s Kindle application for PC and pay with a credit card and get instant access. I have read it myself and it’s incredibly informative—the author has a lot of experience counseling people who have been through this and is clearly a very compassionate and loving care provider. I think it may give you some comfort, empowerment, and most importantly, some really important information that can help you understand what you’re going through and why you’re feeling all of these things.

Here’s a link: http://amzn.com/1580051359

*You have a lot of options when it comes to therapy. There are psychiatrists-M.D.s who can prescribe medication as well as provide therapy…but please make sure you find one who puts big emphasis on therapy, because too many psychiatrists these days are glorified drug dealers-psychologists (PhDs), social workers (LSWs, I believe), etc.

I see a psychiatrist because I wanted to talk to someone who’s been through med school and can understand what I’m going through. He is helping me with therapy and I don’t take any psych medications, but it’s a very personal choice—they may help you.

The important thing is to find someone who specializes in helping people heal from sexual abuse.

If you contact me (antivirgo@gmail.com) I’d be very happy to help you find someone in your area who can accommodate your financial situation, whatever it may be.

And if you EVER need to just talk to someone who cares or have any questions about anything I’ve written here, again—please contact me.

1 out of 4 girls and 1 out of 6 boys are sexually abused in this country—and, horrifying as that sounds, it’s an underestimation because people just don’t talk about it. Again, you are not alone and there is help out there, waiting to be found. All you have to do is look. :)

Praying for you, wherever you are.
