I feel that he has many walls up and is scared of a full commitment. I feel there has been discussions where he has tried to tell you this and or pushed you away. I see that he does care for you alot, but I feel strongly that he is scared to fully let you in I dont get a strong energy of him contacting you right away but he might near the end of his trip, but when he returns I see it being still hard. He has a lot of emotional growth to go through and you have some serious healing to do. I feel that you have been hurt before which leaves you scared he will do it to you as well.
