Many years ago, when I first started reading professionally, I had financial difficulties and lived in my car. Deep down, I knew that experience was not forever, but there were lessons to learn through the process.

I remember people treating me differently once they knew about my circumstances. Some would hint at signs of poverty. Others would question how I could be a spiritual worker and experience lack. Sometimes, I would experience teasing, taunting, or vitriol. There were a lot of projections thrown at me during that time. Still, I knew I was experiencing that because there were things to learn.

Around that time, I met a man from Appalachia. He was a handyman and could fix anything. His name was Tom. He experienced a lot of pain in his life and had a number of challenges and struggles. Yet, he saw I was in need. When he got paid, he would buy me lunch or dinner. We would sit and just talk. He didn’t try anything with me, and wasn’t manipulating me in any way. He just helped me.

The bible says that the poor will always be with us. At that time, I was poor in the monetary sense, and even though Tom didn’t have much, he shared what he could with me. He didn’t expect anything either.

That time in my life as a baby psychic taught me that I don’t need much to be happy. It also showed me that God works through people. Moreover, it showed me that circumstances can always change. You never know where you might end up.

Give what you can this holiday season, and be thankful for the blessings in your life. Even if it’s tough, look for one thing that brings you joy.

You never know, maybe you could be an angel to someone this holiday; be God’s hands and feet? I think so. Anything is possible.
