I’m really sorry to hear about your rejection from the PD. I don’t want to give too many details as this is a public forum, but I can personally relate to your situation in a very specific way. Do you still live in the NYC-area? There are so many departments locally that are going to be having their civil service exams within the next three months and the filing periods are still open. If you want, you can come chat with me (or message me…either way I just want to help you) and I would like to try and share those resources with you. You still have time! Just because this door closed, doesn’t mean it’s hopeless. The good news is you still have time before the age cut off for a lot of departments.

Ireyna, Were you DQ’d from the process? Depending on what it is, you should be able to appeal it. Don’t lose hope if law enforcement is the career you wish to pursue. You may have to relocate but there are so many different departments that you can work for, I won’t say that this door is shut completely on you.
